Ulster County, NY (August 26, 2026) – Two drivers, including 19-year-old Peter Bonenfant of Smithtown, were killed following a head-on crash on State Route 28 in Ulster County on Sunday morning, August 23. The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The Mercedes driver, 72-year-old Philip Jacobus of New York City, was also transported to Health Alliance Hospital. He was later transferred to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
