Venango Township, PA (August 29, 2026) – A wrong way crash in Venango Township on Thursday afternoon, August 27, claimed the life of one woman and left three other people injured. The head on collision occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in the 300 block of Eau Claire Road in Butler County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a vehicle traveling west crossed into the eastbound lane of Eau Claire Road and collided head on with another vehicle. The passenger in the first vehicle, identified as 36 year old Amanda Montgomery, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the same vehicle, a 17 year old girl, sustained serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Children’s Hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released. The occupants of the second vehicle, identified as 51 year old Rebecca Rodgers and a 3 year old boy, were transported to Grove City Hospital for medical care. Authorities have not released updates on their conditions.
