Thomasville, GA (August 30, 2026) – Two separate crashes occurred within minutes of one another on Georgia Highway 111 in Thomasville early Friday morning, leaving two people seriously injured and causing significant traffic disruptions.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the first collision occurred just after 5 a.m. on August 28 when a 2022 Buick Encore was traveling southbound on Georgia Highway 111 and a 2014 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound. Investigators reported that the driver of the Buick Encore crossed the center line into the northbound lane, where it collided with the front left side of the Ford Mustang.
Following the impact, the Buick Encore left the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. The Ford Mustang spun into the middle of Georgia Highway 111, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Authorities said that moments after the initial collision, a southbound 18 wheeler approached the crash scene and struck the disabled Ford Mustang that remained in the roadway. Information regarding injuries resulting from the second collision has not been released.
