According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. on August 27 when a sedan traveling east on County Road 340 entered the intersection with U.S. Highway 129.
Investigators reported that the sedan collided with a northbound tractor trailer. Emergency responders pronounced the 27 year old driver of the sedan and his 36 year old passenger, both from Cross City, dead at the scene. Authorities have not publicly released their names.
