Rio Vista, CA (September 29, 2026) – A 21-year-old Sacramento woman was killed and two other people were injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 160 near Rio Vista.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on September 27 near Sherman Island Cross Road. Investigators said Ajani Leona Everhart was driving a black Kia Forte north on Highway 160 when her vehicle entered the southbound side of the highway.
The Kia then collided with an oncoming white Ford F-250 pickup truck. Everhart, who was the only person in the Kia, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office later identified Everhart as the woman who died.
Two people traveling in the Ford were injured and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities had not determined whether impairment contributed to the collision. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate what caused the crash.
