Brooklyn, NY (October 5, 2026) – A 62-year-old driver was killed and another person was injured in a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn early Monday morning. The collision occurred shortly after midnight between Avenue R and Avenue S in Gravesend.
According to the New York City Police Department, an Audi sedan was traveling south on Ocean Parkway when its driver reportedly swerved and struck the rear of a Toyota Camry. The impact caused the Camry to spin before colliding with a Toyota RAV4. Police said both Toyota vehicles were TLC-licensed cars.
The 62-year-old Camry driver was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 39-year-old woman riding in the rear of the Camry suffered back and neck injuries and was also hospitalized. The RAV4 driver was treated at the scene.
Law enforcement sources reported that the Audi driver removed the vehicle’s license plates after the collision and then drove away from the scene. Police were still searching for the driver Monday morning.
Both directions of Ocean Parkway were closed for several hours while investigators worked at the scene. The fatal hit-and-run remains under investigation.
