Ava, MO (June 15, 2025) – A crash involving two Dodge pickup trucks occurred just after midnight Sunday in Douglas County, sending one woman to the hospital with injuries.
According to reports, the crash was reported at 12:01 a.m. on June 15 along Missouri Highway 5, approximately five miles north of Ava. A 2015 Dodge 3500 was pulling out from a side road when it was struck in the rear by a northbound 2017 Dodge 2500, which authorities say was speeding.
The 58-year-old man from Eldridge, Missouri, who was driving the Dodge 3500, was not injured. However, a 28-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The 31-year-old Ava man driving the Dodge 2500 did not use a safety device and had no insurance. His vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed by Ed’s Towing.
