Richfield Township, MI (June 15, 2025) – A woman lost her life late Friday night following a devastating hit-and-run involving a motorcycle and an SUV near the Outdoor Adventures campground in Richfield Township.
According to reports, the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. on June 14. A 48-year-old woman from Genesee was traveling west on Richfield Road, riding her motorcycle while her husband followed on another motorcycle. A 58-year-old local man driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee allegedly exited the campground driveway and entered the woman’s path. The woman was unable to avoid the SUV and crashed, sustaining serious injuries.
She was transported to Hurley Medical Center where she died overnight.
The Jeep driver fled the scene. Evidence left behind helped authorities identify the vehicle, and the suspect was taken into custody on Saturday. Charges are pending with the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office.
