Homecrest, NY (June 16, 2025) – Four individuals, including two NYPD officers, were hospitalized early Sunday morning following a three-vehicle crash in the Homecrest neighborhood of Brooklyn.
According to reports, the crash occurred just after 2 a.m. on June 16 at the intersection of Avenue U and Coney Island Avenue. Police say a 25-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Suburban north on Coney Island Avenue when he struck a Volvo traveling west on Avenue U. The impact caused the Chevy to spin into a marked NYPD patrol car.
Authorities noted that the police vehicle had its emergency lights on, though its sirens were not active at the time. The driver of the Suburban was arrested at the scene. Two of his passengers, along with the two officers inside the police vehicle, were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. The Volvo’s occupants were not hurt.
