Chicago, IL (June 18, 2025) — A collision involving a private ambulance and a CTA bus in the South Loop left seven people injured Tuesday morning, according to police.
News sources show the crash occurred just before 10:15 a.m. on June 17 in the 1100 block of South Michigan Avenue. The ambulance was heading southbound when it struck the back of a No. 3 CTA bus.
Among the injured were two men, ages 23 and 25, and a 23-year-old woman, who were transported to Rush Hospital. Two other men, ages 73 and 32, were taken to Stroger Hospital. Two additional individuals were treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. All sustained minor injuries and were reported to be in good condition.
Police noted that no patients were inside the ambulance at the time. The ambulance driver was cited following the incident. Six other individuals declined medical treatment at the scene.
