According to reports, Streamwood Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:37 p.m. on June 22 at the intersection of East Schaumburg Road and Timber Trail. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2008 Toyota, driven solely by a 43-year-old woman, was attempting to make a left turn from Timber Trail onto Schaumburg Road when it was struck by an eastbound 2007 BMW.
Emergency crews transported the woman to St. Alexius Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. She was the only occupant of the Toyota. No injuries were reported from the other vehicle involved in the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision, and the woman’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
