Pittsfield, MA (June 24, 2025) – An elderly pedestrian struck by a vehicle last week on Dalton Avenue has died, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on June 20 near the intersection of Dalton Avenue and Benedict Road. Pittsfield Police say a Chevy Impala traveling westbound collided with 87-year-old Luis Chin of Pittsfield, who was walking south across the intersection.
Emergency crews responded quickly and transported Chin to Berkshire Medical Center. Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Dalton Avenue was closed between Benedict Road and Harvard Street for approximately two hours as police processed the scene and began an investigation into the crash. Officials have not released further details on the driver, and the investigation remains active.
