Ashville, AL (June 25, 2025) – A deadly head-on crash in St. Clair County shut down U.S. Highway 231 Monday afternoon and left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 3:15 p.m. on June 24 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 231 and U.S. Highway 11 just outside Ashville. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene, confirming a serious crash with a reported fatality.
Authorities believe the incident was a head-on collision. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional victims sustained critical injuries and were airlifted by helicopter to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
