Syracuse, NY (June 28, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Thursday night in Syracuse left one person dead and four others critically injured, with authorities confirming the driver was under the influence at the time of the collision.
News sources show the deadly crash occurred around 8:46 p.m. on June 26 at the intersection of James Street and Wilson Street. Syracuse Police reported that three people were ejected from one of the vehicles due to the force of the impact. Responding officers immediately called for multiple ambulances, and a large emergency response involving six ambulances, a crime scene unit van, and nearly 20 police vehicles arrived at the scene.
One victim was pronounced dead at the crash site while four others were rushed to Upstate University Hospital. They remain in critical but stable condition.
