Middle Township, NJ (June 28, 2025) – A devastating early morning collision at the Jersey shore claimed the life of a young boy and left two others injured Monday when two vehicles collided in Middle Township.
According to reports, the fatal crash happened around 4:45 a.m. on June 30 along Court House-South Dennis Road in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township. Authorities say a 13-year-old boy from Sewell, New Jersey, was a passenger in a Honda Accord driven by a 55-year-old man, also from Sewell, when tragedy struck.
Investigators believe a 22-year-old man driving a Mitsubishi Lancer attempted to pass another car by entering the northbound lane but struck the Honda head-on instead. The impact killed the young boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles were hospitalized following the crash. Officials have not released updates on their current conditions. The identity of the boy who lost his life has not yet been made public pending notification of family.
Local police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal collision and have urged drivers to avoid reckless passing maneuvers that can have tragic consequences.
