Santa Ana, CA (June 28, 2025) – A motorcycle rider was killed early Saturday morning after colliding with a sedan on State Route 57 near Imperial Highway in Santa Ana, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on June 28 when a motorcycle and a gray sedan collided near the southbound Imperial Highway east on-ramp. CHP dispatch logs indicate that debris was scattered across multiple lanes, and the collision caused one of the involved vehicles — described as an unknown color truck — to spin out and come to rest facing sideways on the right shoulder.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located the motorcycle rider down in the HOV lane. Despite life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple lanes, including the HOV lane and lanes one through three, were shut down for several hours as investigators documented evidence and cleared the wreckage. A heavy-duty tow was requested for both the motorcycle and the other vehicles involved.
Caltrans assisted with a hard closure and issued a three-hour SigAlert due to the severity of the crash and the extensive cleanup required. All lanes were fully reopened before dawn. The identity of the rider has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, and the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
