Carlstadt, NJ (June 30, 2025) — A serious crash involving a Honda Civic and a parked tractor-trailer left a 26-year-old passenger from the Bronx badly hurt early Saturday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike.
According to reports, New Jersey State Police troopers responded at about 4:39 a.m. on June 28 to the southbound lanes at milepost 114.7 on the Turnpike’s western spur in Carlstadt, Bergen County. Investigators say a 25-year-old man from Paterson was driving the Honda Civic southbound when it veered onto the right shoulder, struck a guardrail, and then slammed into the back of a parked International tractor-trailer.
The front-seat passenger, a 26-year-old Bronx man, suffered serious injuries in the impact and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. The driver sustained moderate injuries, while the tractor-trailer driver reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
All vehicles remained at the scene while troopers worked to investigate the cause of the crash and clear the damaged vehicles from the Turnpike. The incident remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police.
