Houston, TX (July 6, 2025) – A collision claimed the life of one person early Tuesday morning after a suspected street racing incident ended in a two-vehicle crash on Westpark Drive in Houston.
News sources show the fatal accident happened around 2:45 a.m. on July 1 in the 9900 block of Westpark Drive. Investigators say a white Chevrolet Impala was heading westbound at high speed and may have been racing a pink INFINITI Q50 when it veered out of its lane and struck a black Ford F-450 traveling in the same direction.
The suspected INFINITI was later found abandoned near the accident scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Wilian Lopez Fonseca, 30, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, along with a female front-seat passenger. A back-seat passenger in the Chevrolet was rushed to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center but did not survive. Her identity has not been publicly released. No one in the Ford F-450 was hurt.
Fonseca has since been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
