Oakdale, CA (July 9, 2025) — A tragic collision in Oakdale claimed the life of a 48-year-old Modesto man Wednesday night following a crash involving three vehicles on Highway 120. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene west of Valley Home Road around 10 p.m. on July 9.
According to reports, a 2024 Lexus sedan driven by the Modesto man was traveling westbound on Highway 120 when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed into the eastbound lane. The Lexus struck the left side of a 2014 Kenworth combination’s trailer before continuing forward and colliding head-on with a 2021 Chevrolet SUV.
The Lexus driver was transported to Oak Valley Hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries. Two passengers inside the Chevrolet SUV sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for further care. Both the driver of the Kenworth and the driver of the Chevrolet SUV were not hurt in the incident. Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
