San Mateo, CA (July 11, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision led to traffic backups and minor injuries Wednesday morning on westbound State Route 92 in San Mateo. The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. on July 9 near the Delaware Street off-ramp.
According to reports, the California Highway Patrol confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a black Audi with significant front-end damage and a Jeep that required towing. Responding officers temporarily shut down the off-ramp and the No. 2 lane while they worked to clear the scene.
At least one person from the Jeep was transported to Mills-Peninsula Medical Center – San Mateo for treatment of injuries initially described as minor. Tow trucks from Action Tow and Atlas assisted in removing the wrecked vehicles, and one car was moved to Concar Drive to help alleviate congestion.
By late morning, all affected lanes were reopened, though drivers experienced residual delays for some time afterward. CHP officers are continuing to investigate what caused the collision.
