Bruceton Mills, WV (July 14, 2025) — Crews were called out early Sunday after a single-vehicle accident in Preston County caused significant damage to local power lines and sent one person to the hospital. The crash occurred on July 13 at around 1 a.m. along Hazelton Road near Hazelton Church.
According to reports, the Bruceton Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene along with the Preston County Sheriff’s Office, KAMP Ambulance, and a local towing company. One person involved in the accident was transported by ambulance for additional medical care.
Photos shared by the fire department show a utility pole snapped in half, leaving power lines strewn across the roadway. Crews closed Maryland Line Road to Tristar Lane while they worked to clear debris and reset the damaged pole. Preston County 911 officials have since confirmed that the affected stretch of road has reopened.
