Bridgeport, CT (July 15, 2025) – A community is mourning the loss of an elderly woman tragically killed in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend. The Bridgeport Police Department is actively searching for the driver responsible for striking and killing 81-year-old Angela Pagan late Sunday night.

According to reports, officers were called to the intersection of Park Avenue and Maplewood Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on July 13 for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When police, firefighters, and EMTs arrived, they found Pagan lying on the roadway with serious injuries. She was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital but sadly died a short time later.

Investigators believe the driver was heading north on Park Avenue when they struck Pagan and continued driving northbound, leaving the scene without stopping to help.
