6-Year-Old Boy Killed in UTV Rollover Crash in Gainesville, TX — East US 82 (July 13, 2025)

Gainesville, TX (July 16, 2025) — A devastating UTV rollover accident left a young boy dead and three other children hospitalized Sunday evening in Gainesville.

According to reports, Gainesville police were called to the 3100 block of East United States Highway 82 around 5 p.m. on July 13 after receiving reports of a major crash involving a 4×4 utility task vehicle. Authorities say four boys, ranging from 6 to 13 years old, were riding the UTV in a parking lot when the driver lost control. The speed and modifications to the vehicle caused it to roll onto its right side, partially ejecting the 6-year-old and an 8-year-old seated between two older boys.

One of the boys, a 13-year-old, was fully ejected during the crash. All four children were rushed to area hospitals, with at least one child airlifted to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, CPR could not save the 6-year-old, who was pronounced dead from his injuries. Police have not released his name out of respect for the family. The Gainesville Police Department continues to investigate the heartbreaking incident.
