According to reports, the collision occurred around 12:16 a.m. on July 16 in the westbound lanes of Highway 50, just east of Folsom Boulevard. Authorities say a semi-truck struck a small sedan under unclear circumstances. Following the impact, the sedan came to rest partially blocking the No. 1 lane of traffic.
Emergency responders from Folsom Fire arrived quickly and transported one person to Mercy Hospital of Folsom. The nature and extent of the injuries have not yet been disclosed.
