San Antonio, TX (July 18, 2025) – A violent crash on the southwest side of San Antonio claimed four lives and left more than a dozen people injured Thursday afternoon after a stolen Chevrolet Camaro collided with a transport bus traveling on Interstate 35.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Leon Creek and Cassin Road. Police say the stolen Camaro was speeding when it struck a shuttle-style bus pulling a trailer. The impact left the southbound lanes of I-35 closed for several hours as emergency crews responded.
Authorities confirmed two people died at the scene, both believed to be older adults. Two more victims passed away after being transported to University Hospital. Children were reportedly among the injured, and officials said at least 12 others were taken for medical treatment.
The bus, operated by Transportes Guerras, was en route from Fort Worth to Eagle Pass. Following the crash, four suspects fled the Camaro on foot, one armed with what police described as an AK-style rifle. Officers are actively searching for those individuals as the investigation continues.
