Phoenix, AZ (July 18, 2025) – A tragic crash on Interstate 10 earlier this week claimed the life of a Pima County corrections officer, who had recently begun his service with the sheriff’s department.
According to reports, the collision occurred Wednesday afternoon, July 16, near Casa Blanca Road. Authorities say Charles Goodall, a corrections officer with the Pima County Adult Detention Complex, was riding a motorcycle when he rear-ended another vehicle. The impact threw him from the bike, and he was then struck by a semi-truck.
Emergency responders transported Goodall to the hospital with critical injuries, but he was later pronounced dead. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is handling the investigation into the crash.
