Long Beach, CA (July 25, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash caused major traffic delays Thursday morning on the northbound side of Interstate 405 Freeway near Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to reports, the collision occurred around 7:47 a.m. on July 24 in the HOV and number one lanes, just south of the Atlantic Avenue exit. The crash involved at least three vehicles, including a white Toyota Camry and a gray sedan. The incident forced the closure of the number two and three lanes and resulted in heavy backups stretching for several miles.

Emergency personnel from CHP and local fire departments responded swiftly. While no serious injuries were immediately reported, medical crews were dispatched as a precaution. One of the vehicles was deemed undrivable at the scene.

Multiple tow trucks from H&L Towing arrived by 8:20 a.m. to assist with clearing the wreckage. Traffic remained congested into mid-morning while crews worked to reopen lanes. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
