Cajon Pass, CA (July 27, 2025) – A devastating hit-and-run crash on the I-15 freeway in the Cajon Pass early Friday morning claimed the life of a 34-year-old motorcyclist, Erek I. Brown of Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
According to reports, the fatal collision occurred just before 1:00 a.m. on July 25 on the northbound side of Interstate 15 near the truck scales south of Highway 138. Brown had reportedly run out of gas and was waiting for assistance when he was struck. His girlfriend was en route to bring fuel and tragically arrived to find emergency crews performing CPR at the crash site.
Despite life-saving efforts by the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene. He leaves behind four children.
Authorities say the crash involved a gray Scion, which was later discovered abandoned at the Highway 138 off-ramp. The California Highway Patrol is treating the case as a felony hit-and-run. No suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
