Fatal Accident in Winslow Township, NJ — Construction Worker Killed on AC Expressway (July 25, 2025)

Winslow Township, NJ (July 27, 2025) – A construction worker lost his life Friday morning after being struck by a truck inside a highway work zone on the Atlantic City Expressway.

According to reports, the deadly incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. on July 25 in the eastbound lanes near milepost 36.5. New Jersey State Police said the driver of an attenuator truck — a vehicle designed to shield workers and motorists — was backing up to retrieve traffic cones from a closed shoulder when the truck fatally struck a worker standing behind it.

The victim, a 31-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township, died from his injuries at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released.

Authorities initially reported no injuries in connection with a crash at that location, later clarifying that they were referring to a separate, minor collision that happened nearby around the same time. The fatal workplace incident remains under investigation.

Protect Your Rights After a Fatal Accident Today

Work zone accidents involving construction workers often have tragic and preventable outcomes. When a worker is fatally injured, surviving loved ones may be entitled to compensation through workers’ compensation claims, wrongful death lawsuits, or third-party liability claims. These cases can involve complex legal and safety standards, and an experienced attorney can help families pursue justice and financial recovery. If you have lost a loved one in a work-related accident, don’t navigate the legal process alone — seek professional legal help to ensure your rights and future are protected.
