Summit Township, PA (July 27, 2025) – A devastating hit-and-run crash Wednesday evening left three people seriously injured and resulted in the deaths of a dog and cat in Summit Township. Police have now arrested the suspected driver, 41-year-old Joshua Bouchey of Erie.
According to reports, the crash occurred just before 6:00 p.m. on July 24 in the 400 block of Rosebay Street. Pennsylvania State Police say Bouchey was driving a Jeep when he struck another vehicle, forcing it off the road and into three pedestrians — a man, a woman, and a child — who were walking along a nearby path. The impact also killed their dog and cat.
After the collision, Bouchey fled the scene on foot, abandoning his vehicle. A police search ensued with the assistance of a state police helicopter. He was ultimately located at his workplace in Millcreek Township and taken into custody on Thursday. Bouchey has since been charged with aggravated assault.
The three victims sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly released.
