Opp, AL (July 28, 2025) — A 71-year-old woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning in Covington County, according to state authorities.
According to reports, the fatal incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on July 26 along Covington County Road 82 near Murray Road. Carol Kingsbury of Opp was riding a motorcycle when she collided with the rear of another motorcycle operated by a 67-year-old man, also from Opp.
The impact of the crash caused Kingsbury to be thrown from her motorcycle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist was not injured in the collision.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is leading the investigation and will release further details as they become available.
