Pratt, KS (July 31, 2025) — A serious single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning sent one man to the hospital after his SUV veered off the road and came to rest in a field just south of Pratt.
According to reports, the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the crash just before 7 a.m. on July 31 along the southbound side of U.S. 281 Highway near Southeast 60th Avenue. A 55-year-old man from Pratt was driving a Buick Rendezvous SUV when he reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a westbound-turning vehicle.
In the attempt to avoid a collision, the driver lost control, and his vehicle left the roadway to the east, coming to a stop in an adjacent field. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no other injuries were reported.
The injured driver was transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
