According to reports, the incident was initially reported around 4:11 p.m. and resulted in the closure of three southbound lanes. Traffic quickly backed up to 54th Avenue in Fife, causing substantial delays for commuters.

Updates from WSDOT indicated the scene had been partially cleared by 5:14 p.m., with only the right lane remaining blocked. By 6:23 p.m., the wreck was fully cleared, though congestion extended as far north as State Route 18 in Federal Way.
