According to reports, Amherst police responded to the intersection of Main Street and Campus Drive around 9:20 a.m. on August 1. The crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger car, and both drivers were transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, while the condition of the car’s driver has not been disclosed.
Due to the severity of the incident, Main Street was shut down in both directions between Harlem Road and Mount Vernon Road for over four hours as crews cleared the scene and investigators documented evidence.
