Atmore, AL (August 3, 2025) — A Bratt man was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck just north of Atmore, according to Alabama State Troopers.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred at approximately 2:03 p.m. on August 2 at the intersection of Highway 21 and Huxford Road. Authorities said 61-year-old Marion Cooper was driving a Ford Crown Victoria and failed to stop at the intersection before entering the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
The semi-truck struck Cooper’s vehicle, causing it to become lodged beneath the trailer. Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
Preliminary reports suggest that Cooper may have experienced a medical emergency shortly before the incident. The official cause of the crash remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
