Sacramento, CA (August 4, 2025) – One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation following a house fire early Sunday morning in south Sacramento, according to fire officials.
According to reports, the fire broke out just after 6 a.m. on August 4 in the 5000 block of 63rd Street. Sacramento Fire Department crews arrived to find flames coming from the kitchen of a residential home. Quick action from firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading further.
Before fire crews arrived, two nearby residents took action and rescued the elderly man and woman who were inside the home. Officials confirmed the man was later transported to a hospital due to smoke inhalation. He is expected to recover. The woman and two pet rabbits in the home were also safely evacuated.
