Port St. Lucie, FL (October 24, 2024) — Police in Port St. Lucie are investigating a crash involving a low-speed vehicle and a car that occurred Tuesday evening.
According to authorities, the accident took place around 7:35 p.m. at the intersection of Town Park Avenue and Southwest Tradition Parkway. Both the white car and the low-speed vehicle were traveling southbound through the entrance gate when the driver of the low-speed vehicle attempted to merge ahead of the car. In doing so, the vehicle clipped the front of the car, causing the low-speed vehicle to lose control and strike a curb.
The impact ejected the driver of the low-speed vehicle, causing him to hit his head on the pavement. The 63-year-old man was airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital with severe head injuries.
As a result of the crash, the entrance to Town Park was temporarily closed, and drivers were redirected to alternate routes while authorities responded to the incident.
Protecting Your Rights after a Car Accident Today
If you’ve been involved in a car accident, protecting your rights should be a top priority. Start by documenting the scene thoroughly, taking photos of vehicle damage, injuries, road conditions, and other relevant details. Gather contact information from witnesses and obtain a copy of the police report. It’s also crucial to seek medical attention, even if you don’t feel seriously hurt, as some injuries may not be immediately apparent. Consulting an experienced personal injury attorney can help you understand your legal rights and options. An attorney will guide you through the claims process, handle negotiations with insurance companies, and work to secure fair compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and other damages. Acting promptly is essential, as waiting too long can result in lost evidence and missed deadlines. By taking these steps, you’ll not only protect your legal rights but also ensure you receive the financial support needed to recover from the accident.
