Irondequoit, NY (August 5, 2025) – A 24-year-old man from Greece was killed Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash following a failed traffic stop in Irondequoit.

According to reports, the incident began around 12:15 p.m. on August 3 when an Irondequoit police officer attempted to pull over a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle for speeding northbound on Titus Avenue. The rider refused to stop and continued onto Culver Road, where the officer lost sight of the vehicle near Sweet Fern Road.

Shortly afterward, another officer discovered the crash at 1580 Lakeshore Boulevard near Durand Eastman Beach. Investigators say the motorcycle collided with a Nissan SUV that was pulling into a parking space.

Officers at the scene attempted lifesaving measures, including CPR, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the crash.

The New York State Attorney General’s Office is now handling the investigation, as required by state law in any fatal incident involving a police pursuit.
