Grant County, WA (August 7, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized following an early morning crash Monday on Highway 28, about one mile south of Ephrata. The collision occurred just after 3:30 a.m. when a vehicle traveling eastbound left the roadway and went into a ditch.
According to reports, Washington State Patrol determined that drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash. Troopers say the driver may have fallen asleep before losing control of the vehicle. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time and were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver has been charged with vehicular assault/DUI. The incident remains under investigation by WSP.
