The incident occurred around 11:04 a.m. on August 9, drawing crews from both the Orange Fire Department and the Athol Fire Department for mutual aid.
According to reports, five people were transported to Athol Hospital for medical treatment. One of those patients was later airlifted from the hospital to a trauma center for advanced care. Another individual involved declined medical assistance at the scene. New Athol Road was closed for a brief time but was reopened before noon, and fire units cleared the area shortly thereafter.
