Southampton, MA (August 10, 2025) – Emergency crews responded Friday afternoon to a deadly two-car collision on College Highway in front of Cumberland Farms. The crash occurred around 3:28 p.m. on August 8, prompting assistance from both the Southampton and Easthampton Fire Departments.
According to reports, three people were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities confirmed that 74-year-old Michael R. Laliberte of Southampton later died from his injuries. The two other individuals involved are expected to survive. College Highway was shut down between Gunn Road and Dunkin’ for several hours while police conducted their investigation and reopened later that evening.
