According to reports, New York State Police responded to a pond in Royalton at approximately 6:42 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible drowning. Initial search efforts were unsuccessful. At 8:53 p.m., state and county emergency crews located the teen in roughly 10 feet of water.
The victim was transported to the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Authorities have stated there are no signs of foul play, and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the teen will be released at a later time.
