According to reports, the crash occurred on August 12 at the intersection of Business Highway 35 and Pearl Street. Rockport police said the man was riding a scooter westbound on Business 35 at a high rate of speed when he may have run a red light and collided with a silver Dodge pickup truck, which had the right-of-way under a green light.
The scooter rider was transported to the Rockport Emergency Room with significant facial injuries. His current condition has not been publicly updated.
