Dallas, TX (August 13, 2025) — A Waco man is in critical condition after suffering a severe spinal cord injury in a mountain biking accident last Friday at Boulder Park in Dallas.
According to reports, 65-year-old Blake Harrell was biking with his wife, Michelle Harrell, when he rode over a roller and crashed. He landed directly on the top right side of his head, shattering part of his spinal cord and cracking his helmet. Emergency responders transported Blake to a Dallas ICU, where he remains intubated and on a ventilator.
Before surgery, Blake reportedly told his wife he was scared. Since being sedated, the couple has had to communicate through eye movements.
Doctors are unsure if Blake will regain the ability to walk, but Michelle remains hopeful, driving from Waco to Dallas daily to be by his side.
