Livermore, CA (August 14, 2025) – A crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle left one person injured Wednesday morning on Interstate 580, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to reports, the collision occurred at approximately 10:44 a.m. on August 13 on the eastbound side of I-580, just east of the North Flynn Road on-ramp. The crash involved a Volkswagen sedan and a semi-truck. The impact caused the sedan to catch fire.

A nearby Good Samaritan quickly stepped in to help the driver of the Volkswagen exit the burning vehicle and move to safety along the shoulder. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and treated one individual at the scene for minor injuries.
