Indianapolis, IN (August 15, 2025) — A hit-and-run crash on the southwest side of Indianapolis left one man dead Thursday morning and has now prompted a homicide investigation, according to local authorities.

According to reports, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 11:10 a.m. on August 14 to the intersection of Denison Street and West Troy Avenue following a report of a personal injury crash. Upon arrival, they found a male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Medics transported the man in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. On August 15, the Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 56-year-old Robbie Glen Vidito.

Witnesses told reporters they believe the car involved in the crash may have belonged to Vidito himself. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.
