According to reports, the crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. on August 14, along U.S. Route 23, just north of State Route 750. A southbound 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck veered left of center, colliding head-on with a northbound 2021 Toyota Venza. The impact forced the Ram into another northbound vehicle, a 2025 Honda Accord. Both the Ram and Accord burst into flames following the second impact.
The crash claimed the lives of two women riding in the Venza — 64-year-old Carol Waldman and 54-year-old Amanda Reidling — both pronounced dead at the scene. Three others in the Venza, including the driver and a third passenger, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram also suffered significant injuries and was hospitalized, while the Honda’s driver and a juvenile passenger received treatment for minor wounds.
