Riga Township, MI (August 26, 2025) – A 69-year-old man from Adrian was killed Monday evening in a crash involving an Amazon delivery van at the intersection of U.S. 223 and Riga Highway.
According to the Michigan State Police, the collision occurred when an Amazon van, driven by a 25-year-old Perrysburg resident, entered northbound Riga Highway after stopping at the intersection with U.S. 223. As the vehicle continued east on U.S. 223, it collided with the victim’s vehicle.
The Adrian man, who was driving the vehicle struck by the van, was transported to a Toledo hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 63-year-old female passenger in his vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Amazon driver was treated at a local hospital in Adrian for minor injuries.
Authorities confirmed that all parties were wearing seatbelts and that alcohol was not a factor. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
