Apopka, FL (July 10, 2025) — Four people were injured Wednesday morning when an ambulance and a pickup truck collided at a busy intersection in Orange County. The accident occurred on July 9 around 6 a.m. at Orange Blossom Trail and State Road 414 near Apopka, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to reports, an Apopka Fire Department ambulance was heading southbound on Orange Blossom Trail with its emergency lights and sirens activated when it entered the intersection at SR 414. At the same time, a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling west on SR 414 and entered the intersection on a green light. Troopers said the front of the ambulance struck the right side of the pickup, causing it to overturn and collide with a 2024 Toyota RAV4.
The ambulance driver, a 26-year-old man, his 25-year-old passenger, and a 78-year-old Apopka woman who was the patient in the ambulance were all transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The 52-year-old driver of the Ford F-250 from Kissimmee also sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the RAV4, a 57-year-old woman from Apopka, was uninjured and remained at the scene. The eastbound lanes of Apopka Boulevard were closed for several hours but have since reopened. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
