Loxley, AL (June 4, 2025) — A crash involving a Medstar ambulance and a pickup truck resulted in multiple injuries Tuesday morning in Loxley.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and Flowerwood Road. Witnesses stated the ambulance, with lights and sirens activated, was attempting to clear the intersection when a pickup truck pulled out and struck the driver’s side of the ambulance. The impact forced the ambulance off the roadway, through a fence, and into a parked vehicle in a nearby hotel parking lot.
Emergency responders transported the ambulance driver, medic, patient, and the pickup driver to area hospitals. Fortunately, all are expected to recover from their injuries. Loxley police emphasized that by Alabama law, vehicles must yield to emergency vehicles operating lights and sirens, even if the traffic signal is red.
The crash remains under investigation.
